Since the company was first formed Elmec has been asked
to provide the necessary skills to encompass many differing shortfalls in
client abilities. The very nature of the rail industry requires companies like
ourselves to have a very flexible and universal scope of ability. We do not shy
away from a challenge. These challenges have seen us support key industry
contractors from the installation of 3km of new design MIR ( Mechanical Independent Registrations) to our
current works on the Watford Bletchley Alliance project erecting the new style
UK1 SPS ( Small Part Steel)
More recently, we were
asked if we could assist a client in the erection of 37 signal gantries on the
WCML. The contract required us to ensure familiarity with the design, identify
the weaknesses in our own skill base and bolster this with good training. The
contract started in March 2002 and we have been there ever since. The contract
has maintained its schedule of works despite being hampered with inclement
weather conditions and is on target to be completed in July 2006.
Obviously, as a company who’s core business is
electrification, when it came to the contract scope being adjusted to encompass
the installation of insulated return conductor, we were only too pleased to be
of service.
As a company, we have one clear objective which is:
“To obtain our business objectives by helping our clients achieve theirs”
